In response to the increasing maintenance costs and insurance claims associated with chief’s using their personal vehicles for official duties, the Milford Fire Department & EMS had made a strategic decision to acquirer 2 dedicated Chief Vehicles.

This move signifies the department's commitment to ensure operational efficiency while minimizing financial burdens on our dedicated chiefs.

In the past, the Milford Fire Department & EMS acquired its initial set of vehicles from Rockland County NY Departments, which included a Ford Expedition and Chevy Tahoe. After a few years, the department invested in two new Ford Expeditions. Presently, one of these expeditions remains in service, while the other has been replaced by a Ford Explorer.

The Chief's vehicles serve a crucial role in our operations, primarily for command purposes across various fire scenes. These vehicles are equipped to support our chiefs in managing incidents effectively and ensuring coordinated responses.

Additionally, they are utilized to transport members to and from training sessions at the Pike County Training Center. This allows our team to enhance their skills, stay updated on the latest procedures, and maintain readiness to serve the community efficiently.
